With my background in leadership, public policy, business and Volunteerism, I have the experience to serve as Brandon’s Representative in Montpelier.

It has been an honor to represent Brandon in Vermont’s General Assembly. I serve on the Commerce and Economic Development Committee as the vice-chair,vermont economic progress council and the university of Vermont board of trustees. I was also part of the film and creative media task force, Joint Small Business Solutions Task Force and Regional Economic Development Grants committee. During the COVID-19 emergency order, I led the Legislative Action Team - working with 25 legislators helping 2,300 Vermonters who had difficulty accessing their unemployment insurance.

I work hard to stay in touch with the residents of Brandon. Over the past years, I have regularly hosted constituent meetings, written articles in The Reporter, posted information on Front Porch Forum, Instagram and Facebook. Keeping my constituents up-to-date on the work of the legislature is very important to m and I am actively helping constituents throughout the year.

I have deep roots in Vermont! I love this state, its culture and the people who live here. I was born in Burlington and grew up in Mendon. I received my BA from the University of Vermont and received my Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After graduate school, I earned a Presidential Management Fellow  https://www.pmf.gov and worked as a policy analyst in NASA’s Office of Space Science. After seven fascinating years working with scientists, engineers, educators, and analysts, we decided to return to Vermont. after Leaving our jobs at NASA and National Geographic Society, we returned to Vermont to raise our family and start a business.

After moving back to Vermont, we found Brandon, a town with a strong sense of community, a solid business district and excellent local schools.  We set down roots here and started our educational publishing company, Visual Learning Systems www.visuallearningsys.com. We have created core-curricular science programs for K-12 organizations and pubic TV stations around the country and internationally. We are proud of all we have accomplished and thankful for those who have been part of our success. Over the years, we have improved several properties in Brandon. A former wood working shop, 29 Union Street, was turned into The Granary - a building that now houses over 12 creative businesses.

it is important for me to play an active part in my community - I have volunteered in many local organizations. I currently serve on the OV Tech Ed Council, Brandon Revolving Loan Fund, UVM Board of Trustees, and UVM Cancer Advisory Board. At Neshobe School, I was active in the PTO, chairing art fundraisers, creating floats for the Independence Day Parade, and teaching science with the Four Winds Program. At Otter Valley, I was president of the Friends of Otter Valley Music and volunteered for OV’s theater programs, as well as sport teams. Five years were spent teaching our youth to nordic ski on the local GMNF trails! My past leadership roles include: Chair/Vice Chair of the Brandon Planning Commission, President of Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce, member of Brandon Economic Development Committee, and Vermont Arts Council board .

I am proud to serve my community as your legislator.
